Rough cut

The rough cut is finally timed out, plus credit it ends up around 6 min 2 seconds, but it will be changed again quite dramatically, my brothers gave me good crits that i really needed, it will improve my cuts, but it will also increase workload unfortunately. (I should have shown him my storyboard or animatic...)

There are some scenes/lines that got cut in my first rough cut because of timing issue... for some reason, whatever I did in flash, always end up being shorter in timing compare to after effects. I have no idea why.... -_-b

Even if i composite at the same time frame count exactly, the sound itself just got lengthened or changed outside of flash, thus some of my sequence become too short, some become too long. Not a fun experience finding this out.

I think my film will get longer than 6 mins.

Illustration:

0. Polish up this piece at work as much as i can.

1. do a European old city scape with storytelling element - a scene in 2M

2. figure out a composition that satisfy my interest with both character illustration and landscape.

3. Work on better shape arrangement and structure, learn to like it.


Animation challenges:
0. Study Disney animation timing and principle.
1. Study 1920s, 30s animation style and timing, 1 sequence.
2. Study Tom and Jerry timing and squash and stretch

Bacgrounds

6 backgrounds done in 1 day, not too shabby.
Though its my regret that I can not make these backgrounds as good looking as some other people but at least they look like they pass. @_@b

I am drained already....

Will finish animating the final shot tomorrow and do another 5 major backgrounds. If I keep this up I will finish all BGs in 2 weeks.

Finally another update

The winter break was my insane animation time... same goes for everyone else in the forth year.

I have 3 shots left to finish all my rough animation, thanks to livestream and the same faithful crew who watched me, and chat with me all the way through. :D Their support really really helped!


And now i have 4 official inkers, out of them 2 devoted inkers, and a whole team of willing artists to help with the coloring. I feel so fortunate.


The coloring assignment will be passed out to the coloring team as soon as it gets inked. :O

I just noticed i still.... still have to ink the shadows on the animation. BEEEEEP*

23 untouched shots to go, 12-15 weeks left until end of March.
Theoretically speaking, if starting now i finish 3 shots a week i can make it.
But that is never the reality, so it will be better if i finish animating as much as i can on the minor sequences during the break. But i think i am keeping track pretty well despite the need to stop production for a few weeks for my maya class and clients.
