directing tips research

http://www.cinemaadvanced.com/

The most specific tips I have come across yet, he seems to speak of his view from experience. I will give that a go.

Tips:

1. Don't tell your actors how to feel.
2. Don't use the words such as sad, angry, nervous. etc
(Always communicating to them treating them like they are already the character on the set= Hypnosis??!)

3. Tell them the situation they are in and what they are trying to do as their characters, explain the "why" in the action.
4. Rehearse and practice.
5. Often best emotions are expressed through the desire to cover it. (like if someone tells you: don't laugh; you will feel more like laughing.)
